Gene Bridges launches new E.coli Gene Deletion Kit, based on Red/ET Recombineering
Gene Bridges announced today the introduction of a new recombineering kit which enables the precise deletion and/or insertion of genes on the E.coli chromosome to be performed in within a week. The "E.coli Gene Deletion Kit" uses the patented Red/ET Recombineering system and allows modifications at any selected position on the genome and includes the option of removing selectable markers.Dr. Tim Zeppenfeld, of Gene Bridges said: "This kit will have wide applications in the field of metabolic engineering and systems biology. For the first time, multiple knock-outs can be performed at every site on the chromosome without leaving antibiotic-cassettes, thus adding huge time advantages and flexibility to strain improvement".
The kit contains a manual with protocols, maps and sequences and also comes with control experiments.
